5 Halloween Treats in under 5 minutes

Yes you guessed it, we're still in the #halloween spirit here at #raindropznroses, because let's face it, we need to take advantage of any reason to celebrate this year and be grateful for any fun we get to have.

One of the main things we look forward to on #halloween, aside from dressing up and decorating the house of course, are the bowls of candy, bags of treats, and the big dish of tasty sugary sweets! So we decided to create some spookalicious treats that are as easy to create as they are to enjoy!

Ghouly Ghost Meringues

The quickest and easier treat on the list, with only two simple ingredients and one simple step. These took less than a minute to create and were ghoulishly gorgeous!

Supplies:

  • Mini Meringues

  • Black Edible Colouring Pen

Method:

Step 1: Using your black food decorating pen, draw two dots for eyes and a circular mouth on your meringue.

Step 2: Enjoy!

Witches Twiggy Broomsticks

A few more supplies than the previous required for this little treat, but the cuteness of it will have you flying high as a kite (see what we did there - broomstick, flying :0)

Supplies:

  • Twiglet's

  • Cellophane Bags

  • Paper Straws

  • Ribbon

Method:

Step 1: Take a handful of twiglet's and place them in a cellophane bag. Make sure they are upright to create the illusion of the brooms bristles.

Step 2: Insert a paper straw into the bag to make your brooms stick. You can use any colour paper straw. If you want to get extra creative you can even glue a little paper witch onto the straw.

Step 3: Cut any excess off your cellophane bag and then twist it and tape the top to secure. Tie a ribbon around to hide the tape. We added spider rings as a finishing touch and as an extra fun spooky #halloween treat.

Step 4: Enjoy!

Pretzel and Mallow Skeletons

Another super cute and easy treat for #halloween. Billy and Livvie Loo adored these little skeleton characters and we had so much fun building them. Again, you only need a few supplies that are easy to get your hands on.

Supplies:

  • White Chocolate Covered Pretzels

  • Cellophane Bags (or sandwich bags)

  • Paper Straws

  • Curling Ribbon

  • Black Edible Colouring Pen or Edible Eyes

Step 1: Take hold of your paper straw and slide a marshmallow onto the straw about half way down. This is going to ensure your skeletons pretzel body stays in position.

Step 2: Start to slide your pretzels onto the straw to build your skeletons body. We used 5 pretzels. Then add another marshmallow at the top of the straw to make your skeletons head.

Step 3: Using your edible black decorating pen, add two eyes and a skeleton mouth. We also added a spider ring to our skeleton, again just for an extra fun party #halloween treat.

Step 4: Insert your skeleton into a cellophane bag. Twist the bag and tape it. Add a curling ribbon and curl. And then... Enjoy!

Devilishly Delicious Donuts

Another treat that requires just 2 simple ingredients. These took less than 10 seconds to create so are a definite winner.

Supplies;

Ring Donuts

Edible Eyes

Fun Halloween Fangs or Spiders

Method:

Step 1: Take a ring donut and add some fun halloween fangs or a scary spider to the inside ring to create the illusion of a mouth. Then add a pair of edible eyes. You won't need to use edible glue for these as you'll be able to easily push them into the donut slightly for them to stay put.

Step 2: Yep you guessed it, Enjoy!

Poisonous Pumpkins and BOO-nana Ghosts

By the time we finished the other 4 treats, I am not going to lie... our little munchkins were a little high on sugar and our heads couldn't take much more of the high pitched squeals, so we decided to use healthy snacks for the last treat. These two snacks were just as fun and fruitaliciously tasty.

Supplies;

Bananas

Easy peel Satsumas

Stick of Celery

Raisins

Method:

Step 1:

Peel your Satsuma and add a small stick of celery into the centre to make your pumpkins stalk.

Step 2:

Add a pair of edible eyes to complete your pumpkin.

Step 3:

Peel your bananas and cut in half. Add two raisins for eyes and a single raisin for a mouth. Now enjoy your two tasty and healthy treats #halloween snacks!

All of our tasty treats were so much fun to make and super easy. The kids loved creating them and we really enjoyed eating them!

We hope you can recreate these and if you do please share with us on social using your #raindropznroses. We'd love to also see your creative sides come to life so if you have any other ideas for fun ideas #halloween treats we'd love to see them.
