Cardboard Camera

Every child loves to take photos, whether it be a real photo or just the sense of snapping away whilst we pose for them and say "cheese" 40 times in a row (or is that just happening in my household)! So after number 39 cheese, I decided to set up all of Billys animal teddy's and made him a camera and gave him the job of visiting the "zoo" to take as many photos of the animals as he could (yes thank you I too was. very pleased with myself when I came up with that one)!

It super easy to create and doesn't require a lot of materials at all - happy snapping.

What you'll need;

  • Cardboard box

  • Paint and paintbrush

  • Ketchup bottle top or any top that opens

  • Milk carton top or any round plastic top

  • Paper straw

  • Glue gun (if you don't have one, any glue will work but allow time for the glue to dry

Method;

  1. If you cardboard box isn't to the desired size, simply cut it and then glue or tape down any flaps.

  2. Take your flip top and using your glue gun place a small amount of glue around the base and then stick this to the front in the centre of the box.

  3. Next take your smaller bottle top, apply glue and stick this to the top of the box to either the left or right side (this will be your trigger button).

  4. Next, take your pipe cleaner (or straw) and manipulate it into the shape of a square, this will be the eye hole. Glue it onto the top of your box on the opposite side to the trigger button.

  5. Using a black or coloured pen, draw a little more detail to make your camera come to life.

  6. And voila - let your little ones snap, snap and snap some more.
