We love imaginative play and try to encourage it in our little ones as much as we can. One thing that we really missed last year because of the restrictions of lockdown was camping. As a family we love to go camping, there's something about being out in the open and giving yourself over to nature that feels so fun and exhilarating.
This blog idea has come from our very own Livvie Loo. Olivia is aged 10 and is the ultimate art and craft queen as well as the camping guru of the family. So when she came to us with the idea of creating mini tents we wanted to share it with you all to try at home.
What you'll need;
Cardboard
Lolly sticks
Scissors
Glue
Method;
Start with your card and fold it in half.
With a pair of scissors, make a small cut along the edge of the fold line at each end
Where you have created a small cut, fold back the two edges to create tabs, do this on both ends
Apply PVA glue along the folded tabs and stick on your lolly sticks (we used coloured sticks for extra affect, if you don't have any, you can always colour your sticks in.
Leave your tent to dry and voila! You have a mini card tent.
Why not paint some stones with fun designs to add outside your tents or collect some twigs on your daily walk for extra affect. You can create all different tents in different colours and sizes to create a complete camp site. Billy decided our tent was for his cardboard chick to live in!
Thanks for reading Raindropz, and please do share your designs with us on your social channels by tagging @raindropznroses. Until next time, stay safe.
